5 Tips for a Healthy Life
Here are some things you know you should already be doing to maintain good health:
1. Get enough sleep
Adequate sleep is crucial to a healthy life. There is no universally applicable number of hours that you ought to get each night. The benefits of getting enough sleep are well-documented and self-evident: a healthy appearance, an alert mind, and general well-being, to name a few. An often cited guideline is at least 8 hours, but each person may need more or less than this number to feel and look their best. Though life can be hectic and busy, it’s important to leave yourself enough time to get adequate sleep.
2. Drink plenty of water
Staying hydrated is also important. Our bodies use water for countless functions, from skin health to kidney function. Our bodies lose fluids daily carrying out various bodily functions, so it's vital that fluid intake is in balance with fluid output, or else we become dehydrated. Once again, an often cited guideline states that we should drink 8 glasses of water per day, but there is no study that supports this number. But it certainly could not hurt to use it as a reference point. And, of course, when you feel thirsty, your body is telling you that it needs water.
3. Eat right
As the old saying goes, "You are what you eat." Your diet is critical to your health. If you primarily eat sugary, fattening, artificial foodstuffs, you cannot reasonably expect to feel good and healthy. It is important to have a balanced diet that includes proper servings of whole grains, fruits, vegetables. Limit your consumption of sugar and saturated fats. Don't overeat. Moderation is key. And if you feel you aren't quite getting all of the vitamins and minerals and nutrients your body needs, take a look at Liquid Health's extensive liquid supplement product catalog.
4. Exercise
Exercising is obviously important. Exercising can help prevent obesity and various diseases, improve mood and sleep, and boost energy. When you are not slaving away at your monotonous job as an insignificant, replaceable corporate lackey, use your free time to exercise. Your body will thank you.
5. Maintain good hygiene
Take care of yourself. You certainly have every right to be disgusting, but do not assume that people around you will enjoy your company if you are a dirty slob. You can only get away with being a bit slovenly if you are incredibly attractive. Shower or bathe often, brush your teeth, wash your hands, use deodorant. Maintain a clean and pleasant appearance. It will do wonders for your social life, and will likely boost your self-esteem.
